Francesca + Matt / Frankie’s Sputino Wedding • Brooklyn, NY

July 6, 2015

There aren’t quite enough words for these two, but I’ll try. When I first met Francesca + Matt early last year, I instantly gravitated towards them. Perhaps it’s the shared Piscean traits between Matt & I or maybe it was their refreshing perspective on life, as two theatre actors. We spent a longer than usual Skype date talking about everything from weddings to funerals to astrology to dogs. I knew their day would be other worldly kind of magical and boy, was it ever.

When Mark & I arrived in Brooklyn on an early afternoon in June, the day of Francesca + Matt’s wedding, we first stopped in at a local cafe to have lunch with their photographer, Sara Collins of Love Katie & Sara. Sara flew all the way from Australia to document this precious day for her childhood friend, Francesca, and we were elated to share the journey with her.

Francesca + Matt’s getting ready time was some of the calmest, most peaceful I’ve ever witnessed. There was a quiet confidence filling the room that comes when you know something is absolutely exactly as it should be. Their nuptials took place under an intimate backyard nook at Frankie’s Sputino in Carroll Gardens. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the two shared personal vows we could only best compare to something of a dramatic reading or theatrical performance. After all, Francesca + Matt met while working together on the play, “As You Like It.” Long tables with English crackers, paper crowns and family style plates lined the covered patio, as they shared dinner with their loved ones. At the end of the night, Francesca + Matt asked guests to line the walkway, holding candles and making animal sounds (“owwwooo!) as they walked home to their apartment. This day was one we will never forget and one that reminded us what weddings are about – celebrating a forever love in a most personal, honest way. Francesca + Matt, we adore you.
